What it is
In ghost mannequin photography, a garment is shot on a mannequin and also separately with the neckline interior visible (collar shot open or laid flat). Neck join is the process of combining those two photos so the inside of the collar connects naturally with the outside — creating a hollow, three-dimensional neckline with no visible seam.
Done well it looks like the garment has been worn — with natural fabric fold, depth inside the collar, and a clean, sellable result. Done poorly it looks like two photos badly pasted together.

FAQ
Yes — shoot the inside of the collar separately (with the neckline open or the garment half-removed from the mannequin). Without a reference inner shot, the editor has to estimate, which takes longer and costs more.
We need some shot of the collar interior to work from — even a flat-lay of the inside neckline works. A mannequin gives the cleanest result but isn't strictly required.
Ghost mannequin is the full invisible-mannequin effect. Neck join is specifically the collar-blending step within that process. You can order neck join alone if you've already had the mannequin removed elsewhere.
Very open or loose necklines (e.g. wide-neck off-shoulder) sometimes can't be joined naturally without a reference shot. Send us a sample and we'll confirm before you order a full batch.
