Search "Meesho image size" and the answers split: one guide says 500 px, another 800, most say 1000, and one gives 1080 x 1440 px in portrait for apparel. The reason is simple. Meesho keeps its image rules inside the Supplier Panel and its help centre, behind a seller login, so most guides repeat each other or a seller tool. We could not open a Meesho-hosted page with these rules, so this guide follows agency and seller-tool guides and labels every number by where it comes from.

Category rules can change and guides often copy each other. Treat this table as a starting point and let the Supplier Panel have the final say before a large batch.
Where the Numbers Disagree
Five gaps cause most of the confusion:
- Minimum size. Guides quote 500, 800, 1000, 1080 and 1200 px, and one says published figures run up to about 1500 px. One AI photo vendor even gives 500 px in one article and 1000 px in another. One seller-tool guide says Meesho accepts 500 px but that such images look soft when a buyer zooms in. Use 1000 px as the floor and build to 1500 px.
- Square or 3:4. Most guides say 1:1. One seller-tool guide says 1080 x 1440 px in 3:4 portrait is safest for apparel, and 1200 x 1200 px for square categories such as accessories and home. We found no Meesho page that settles it, so keep both crops possible.
- File size cap. One agency guide says under about 5 MB, while a troubleshooting guide says usually under 2 MB. Export under 2 MB and both readings pass.
- How many images. At least 3 in two guides, 4 to 7 in another, and a single front image in one document we found that may not be Meesho's own. Plan 4 to 5.
- White or plain. Guides say white or plain light for the first image. One agency guide accepts a clean neutral backdrop on model shots. A Flipkart apparel export on light grey is a different file from a Meesho white one, so do not reuse it without a test. Our Flipkart image requirements guide covers the grey rule.
Square or 3:4: Shoot Once, Crop Both Ways
Meesho is built for volume and price, and one agency guide notes that buyers shop on the app on small screens, so the first image does most of the work. You do not have to guess the ratio before you shoot. A 3:4 portrait at 1500 x 2000 px contains a centred 1500 x 1500 px square that keeps 75% of the height, so a product placed inside the middle three quarters of the frame survives both crops. If your catalog is already shot in portrait for another marketplace, our Shein image requirements guide shows how one 3:4 master serves several ratios.
One Master Spec That Clears Every Reading
You do not have to settle the argument. Shoot and edit to the strictest reading of each number. The sizes below are our recommendation, not Meesho values.
- Shoot a 3:4 portrait at 1500 x 2000 px with the product inside the centre 75% of the height.
- Export a 1500 x 1500 px square crop for categories that use square images. It sits above every figure we found.
- JPEG in sRGB, under 2 MB per file, with no PNG unless the cutout needs transparency.
- White or plain light background, with the product fully visible and filling about 70% to 80% of the frame.
- 4 to 5 images per product: front, back, a close detail and an in-use or on-model shot.
- No text, watermark, price, MRP, logo, sticker, border or collage, and one product per image.
- Upload through the Supplier Panel image uploader, not Drive links, and check every image in the catalogue, not only the first.
Why Meesho Images Get Rejected
The guides we found agree on the causes, even where they disagree on pixels. The most common are blur or low resolution, a non-square crop, a dark or cluttered background, a product that sits too small in the frame, and text, price or watermarks on the image. One agency guide says quality check applies to the whole catalogue, so one bad image in a set of colour variants can send every product in it back. Reselling a manufacturer's images is where watermark rejections usually start, so use clean originals or reshoot. Meesho is also not covered in our AI image disclosure guide, but the same agency guide lists fully AI-fabricated product images as not allowed, so keep your first image a real photograph of the actual item.
Fixing Photos That Fail Without a Reshoot
Most failed Meesho uploads come down to three jobs: a clean cutout onto white, a correct size and format, and for apparel a visible mannequin.
- Cluttered, dark or off-colour background: a clipping path cuts the product out and places it on pure white. Pricing is $0.39 per image for simple products, $0.69 for medium and $0.99 for complex shapes.
- Wrong ratio, size or file type: image conversion resizes and reformats a batch to spec from $0.19 per image, or $0.39 when a colour mode or DPI change is also needed.
- Visible mannequin on a kurti, top or dress: a ghost mannequin edit removes it, from $1.49 per image for simple tops, $2.49 for medium garments and $3.49 for complex ones. We found no Meesho rule on edited mannequin images, so test one image first.
As a worked example, take one plain cotton top with 4 images. A simple clipping path on all four costs $1.56 (4 x $0.39) and resizing and exporting all four at the basic conversion rate adds $0.76 (4 x $0.19), for $2.32 per product. A catalogue of 10 colour variants at those rates comes to $23.20. Turnaround is 24 to 48 hours with one free revision round, and a combined quote is available for large batches.

FAQ
What size should Meesho product images be?
Guides disagree. Most say at least 1000 x 1000 px, with 1080 x 1080 px the figure quoted most often, while others quote 500, 800, 1200 or up to 1500 px. Meesho's own rules sit inside the Supplier Panel behind a seller login, so check the upload screen before a batch. A 1500 x 1500 px square clears every reading we found.
Does Meesho use square or 3:4 images?
Most guides say square 1:1. One seller-tool guide says 1080 x 1440 px in 3:4 portrait is the safest main image for apparel and 1200 x 1200 px for square categories. We found no Meesho page that confirms either, so shoot a 1500 x 2000 px portrait with the product centred and crop a square from it.
What background does Meesho want?
Guides say white or a plain light background for the first image, with no clutter. One agency guide adds that a clean neutral background is accepted on model shots in fashion. Pure white is the safe choice for product-only images.
How many images does a Meesho product need?
Sources split. An agency guide and a seller guide say at least 3 per product, a seller-tool guide says 4 to 7, and one document we found says a minimum of 1 front image. Plan 4 to 5: front, back, a close detail and an in-use or on-model shot.
Why does Meesho reject product images?
Guides name the same causes: blur or low resolution, a non-square crop, a dark or cluttered background, the product too small in the frame, and text, price or watermarks on the image. One agency guide says quality check applies to the whole catalogue, so one bad image can send back every product in it.
Can I use Google Drive links for Meesho images?
A seller guide and a shared document say no and tell you to use the image uploader in the Supplier Panel. We could not confirm this on a Meesho page we could open, so treat it as likely and use the panel uploader.
